How LED lamp posts work

LED lamp post with red, green, blue three kinds of blue LED light source, four rows of LED light speed through the milky transparent round tube projected to the digital lamp post inner surface, after several reflection refraction, formed a mixed color transparent wall, achieve decorative lighting effect.

The lamp post is connected with a digital circuit, and the external controller controls it accordingly. Through modulating the working mode of the controller, various colors and states can be changed according to certain laws. 

The heart of an LED is a semiconductor wafer, one end of which is attached to a stand, one end is negative and the other end is connected to the positive end of the power supply, so that the entire wafer is encapsulated in epoxy resin. A semiconductor chip consists of two parts, one is a p-type semiconductor, in which the holes are dominant, the other is an n-type semiconductor, and the other is dominated by electrons. When the two semiconductors are connected, they form a p-n junction. When a current is applied to the chip through a wire, the electrons are pushed into the p-zone, where they recombine with the hole and emit energy as photons, which is how leds glow. And the wavelength of light, the color of the light, is determined by the material that forms the p-n junction.

A single LED bead works at a low voltage (about 3V) and a low current (about a few milliamperes), producing a very weak light. Many LED beads need to be connected in series or in parallel; At the same time, a single LED bead conducts electricity in one direction. In order to make full use of positive and negative half cycle current of alternating current, an integrated circuit chip is needed to convert the ac 220V power supply into a direct current that can match the voltage and current of the LED set, so as to meet the requirements of the LED bead assembly and make it emit light normally.
