Do You Pick Up Full-spectrum Leds?

- Jul 15, 2019-

This year's highlights include intelligent lighting, landscape lighting, plant lighting, LED filament lighting and health lighting.

We mention health lighting many times, "lighting should be people-oriented" has become the consensus of the industry. Manufacturers no longer focus purely on light efficiency or service life, but more on people's sense of light and the impact of light on people, hoping to create artificial light closer to natural light.

Natural light namely "sunshine", 5000 years ago people basically relies on natural light sunrise and make, sunset and interest, 19 centuries follow the development of electric power industry, the first artificial light appeared, subsequently artificial light experienced incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp... To the current LED... People have been chasing the artificial light closest to sunlight. With the mature and development of LED technology, the manufacture of full-spectrum LED similar to solar spectrum has become an industry hotspot in recent years.

What is full spectrum LED?

Full spectrum refers to the spectrum curve containing ultraviolet, visible and infrared light in the spectrum, and the proportion of red, green and blue in the visible part is similar to that of sunlight, and the color rendering index Ra is close to 100 spectrum.

The spectrum of sunlight can be called the full spectrum, the color temperature changes with the four seasons and the morning and evening time change, so the spectrum of the full spectrum lamp, should change the color temperature with the time change, simulate the natural light environment, in order to more in line with the natural growth law of organisms.

The continuous spectrum of solar radiation at noon in sunny days, with a color temperature of 5000K, is divided into visible and invisible parts. The wavelength of visible light is 400? 760 nm, divided into red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple 7 colors, concentrated into white light; There are two kinds of invisible light, infrared light with wavelength greater than 760nm and wavelength 290? 400nm.

Full-spectrum leds should mimic the 5000K solar spectrum as much as possible.

The blue light spectrum of ordinary leds is relatively high, and there is a lack of purple light, blue light, short wave green light and long wave red light. At present, the full spectrum of leds is achieved by chip + phosphor, and the full spectrum is made up by adding violet light chip or adding phosphor powder with wavelength in the concave area between blue peak and phosphor peak.

The color rendering ability of light source to objects is called color rendering. The color rendering index of sunlight is defined as 100, and the closer the Ra value is to 100, the better the color rendering ability is.

When evaluating the color rendering of light source, 15 kinds of sample colors are adopted. Special color rendering R9 is used to evaluate the quality index of LED's reproduction of vivid red color. Ra and R9 are both high values, which are the performance of high-quality LED.

Compared with ordinary LED, full-spectrum LED spectrum is more continuous, more extensive color gamut; Color rendering index Ra was greatly improved, which was closer to 100. The special color rendering index R9 can reach above 90.

Full spectrum LED features

Full-spectrum LED greatly enhances the spectrum continuity and integrity by completing the missing short-wave violet light, blue light, short-wave green light and long-wave red light, making the color gamut extensive and more close to the full spectrum of sunlight.

Shortwave "violet light" helps the body to synthesize vitamin D and promote the body's absorption of calcium. The 420nm violet light also helps plants form anthocyanins and resist the growth of branches and leaves. Long - wave "red light" can promote the whole growth of plants during flowering and fruiting.

The blue light band range of ordinary LED spectrum is relatively large, excessive blue light and improper use of lighting fixtures will cause visual damage. Blue light inhibits the production of melatonin, which can cause insomnia. Full-spectrum LED lights can effectively reduce the blue light hazard of LED lighting sources.

According to industry statistics, at present, full-spectrum LED accounts for only about 2% of the LED market. Compared with ordinary LED, full-spectrum LED costs slightly higher and is subject to price constraints, which leads to greater promotion resistance.

Industry insiders predict: "with the continuous improvement of full-spectrum technology, more users will realize the importance of full-spectrum light quality, and its market share will grow rapidly. The whole LED industry, especially the indoor lighting field, will also rapidly transition from conventional high-color LED to full-spectrum LED."

It is reported that the existing enterprises and scientific research institutions in the development of full spectrum lights at the same time, the development of the sun can simulate the four seasons of the year and different time periods of color temperature changes in the full spectrum lighting system, more in line with the natural growth law of organisms.

Wisdom makes dreams come true, technology changes lives. The essence of LED lighting is to provide artificial light. The meaning of artificial light is close to natural light. With the continuous development and maturity of LED technology, it will bring us more comfortable light environment.
