Key points for LED street lamps

Luminous efficiency

As the technology matures, the high-power LED light source can meet the needs of ordinary street lamps. The light efficiency of general high pressure sodium lamp is 100LM/W, and the commonly used high-power LED is 50-60lm /W. The foreign LED chip can reach 80LM/W. The higher the luminous efficiency, the better the energy saving effect will be. However, LED standards do not specify this, so the procurement of LED street lights must be carefully confirmed.

And some businesses, in order to reduce costs, the use of several hundred 0.5w small power LED. However, the light decay of this kind of low-power LED is very serious, its light decay to 80% of the life of only 1000 hours. Therefore, as a street lamp requiring long-term use, it is absolutely not allowed to use this kind of low-power LED, and the high-power LED (generally refers to more than 30W), its light decline will be much better.

Weight problems

Because of the high technical content and complex composition of LED street lamps, the weight of some high-power lamp caps will far exceed that of ordinary high-voltage sodium lamps. However, some LED street lamp manufacturers have tried their best to reduce the dead weight of LED lamp holder, from about 30 kg per lamp holder to more than 10 kg, and the weight reduction has a further downward trend.

Heat dissipation

Because LED is a semiconductor component, when its chip is affected by temperature and reduced to 30% of the initial light flux, it will lose the significance of lighting, that is, the end of life. Theoretically, the life of high-power LED street lamps is in the range of 30,000 to 50,000 hours, but its important premise is good heat dissipation. It is worth mentioning that domestic manufacturers have adopted the world's leading needle cooling technology.
